The flip also provides a quick and easy way to upload your videos to YouTube. The Flip Ultra HD are limited to their internal storage capacity, which is either 512MB in the 30-minute versions or 1GB in the 60-minute models. The Sony camcorder has a small amount of internal memory for emergencies, but stores stills and video clips on Sony’s Memory Stick Pro Duo cards. The Flip Ultra HD also features a built-in USB dongle that connects to the USB ports on your computer. This would be a plus, except that it is short and requires hanging off of your USB port.
Videos are captured on hard drive-based camcorders as digital files. By comparison, videos captured on tape-based digital camcorders must be imported into a digital video editing application first and then saved as digital computer files. Videos I captured indoors were not as appealing; colors looked slightly more washed out, and noise was noticeable in many of the clips.
Recorded video is stored on SD/SDHC memory cards up to 32 GB. The required software is built-in as well. Records in TV-quality video with a few simple button clicks. The intuitive design is perfect for beginners or even advanced camera users.

Personally I would choose the The Flip camcorder for my kids. The Flip Ultra HD is small enough to slip into a pocket, easy to use (1 big record button) and you don’t need to be a PC genius to get the video off it, it has a USB connector that slides out and you simply plug it into a PC or Mac and drag the AVI file over and its ready to put on YouTube.
Pure Digital have come a long way in the few short years, the cheap Flip ultra HD made them a success. I do recommend this camcorder for anyone

Pure Digital has made some changes to differentiate the Ultra from the standard Flip. The Flip video ultra has about the same thickness as the standard flip but is is somewhat narrower. This difference in size makes it a little easier to hold in your hand. The Flip Video Ultra series comes in many colors: white, black, pink, and orange. The battery compartment has been changed in that the unit is powered by 2 AA batteries. It has a metal threaded mount for tripods has been added. As you can see, the Flip Video Series has a lot of common accessories with it predecessor and the two weigh in right around 5 ounces.
The Flip Camcorder previous model has a 1.5 inch LCD screen on the back of the camera that allows for instant review. With the Flip Camcorder you can easily delete any undesirable clips. Pure Digital has made a lot of upgrades such as upgraded the LCD with one that offers greater resolution and is transflective. This enables you to see whats on the screen in bright daylight. The Flip Camcorder has a video output which allows you to view clips on any TV with a composite video input. Like the previous camcorder, the Flip Ultra HD ships with a felt protective carring case which keeps the camera from easily getting scratched.
It is obvious that Pure Digital continues to improve the video quality with each new model. For the Flip Ultra HD has started using
the Pure Digital Video Engine 2.0. In the review of the original Flip it was noted that raw footage seemed slightly sharper and more of the colors are vibrant and it seems it is true for theFlip Ultra HD. I am here to say, if you want a simple camcorder, get the Flip Ultra HD

Hands down, Apple’s app store wins by a mile. It’s a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I’m not sure I’d want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.

Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass’ favor.

I couldn’t agree more. I basically have to jump up and down to get anyone to notice me at my home town Macy’s. It’s like they don’t even want my money. When I finally do get a hold of a salesperson they often act aloof and uninterested as if I were inconveniencing them with my questions. On top of that the store is not well maintained. The dressing rooms are drab and dirty. They have a designer section of the store with the latest high end fashion yet, the chairs in the sitting room are worn and out dated. It’s not the kind of environment or service that makes me want to spend any money on clothes. If I want Wal Mart service, I might as well just go go there and pay Wal Mart prices!

Hands down, Apple’s app store wins by a mile. It’s a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I’m not sure I’d want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.
